GSCA National Specialty 2001
Allentown, Pennsylvania
Hosted by the Brandywine Gordon Setter Club
Every year, we as Gordon Setter exhibitors,
await the yearly party showcasing our beloved Black and Tan Setters.
On September 11, 2001 the tragedies of the World Trade Center and the
Pentagon seriously changed and affected our lives. All of
us had many questions: Would we still be able to have the
National? Would airlines allow the dogs to be shipped from various
parts of the country? Would our friends from outside the United
States be able to get to the National? What about our judge, Robyn
Wallis? Would she be able to get to the U.S? We all found out
later that Robyn and her traveling companion, Esther Joseph, were actually in
New York City on September 11, 2001. We are thankful, that despite
their harrowing experience, they were both okay. True to form,
the American resolve was strong. Patriotism reigned supreme and from
Wisconsin to Pennsylvania, this was evident. What follows is my
photo essay of the 2001 Gordon Setter Club of America National
Specialty. We had a truly wonderful time and thank the Brandywine
Gordon Setter Club for hosting the show. While the circumstances of
September 11, 2001 will be indelibly etched in our minds forever, we will
also always remember the 2001 GSCA National Specialty. Please
feel free to use my photos, although I ask that you give credit to the
photographer(s) when reproducing these photographs. Thank
you!! Enjoy the tour!!
