Stud Dogs

Currently we have two dogs available at stud.  The first dog is our Ch. Glen Oaks' Firedance o' Amethyst.  Fire had been ranked in the top #20 Gordons in the US (Canine Chronicle System-All Breed Competition, 11/30/2000).

Fire is OFA good, has a leg on his Junior Hunt title, and is DNA-tested.  Please contact us by phone if you are interested in using Fire at stud.  Our phone number is (920)-623-4715.

We feel that Fire is a correct Gordon.  He has produced some nice offspring for us in his past breedings to our MacAlder J'Amethyst Royale (Storm).  Fire's daughters, Ice and Ember, are both pointed and pursuing their bench championships. Ice has her CGC title and is working toward an obedience title as well.  Fire was bred to Ch. Clansmen 'n' Amethyst Hi Ground (Asti) and has a son pointed toward his championship at the age of 8 months old.  Fire also sired a litter out of Tartana Black Majeck.

We look forward to continuing to use Fire in our breeding program.  He is out of Ch. Black Anvil Kadabra and Am/Can. Ch. Tartana Keepsake Cailin.

Our other stud dog is a relative newcomer to Amethyst.  His name is Shojin's Somewhere In Time (Dude).  Dude is a son of Ch. MacAlder Best For Shojin (Chipper) who was also the sire of our first Gordon, Spice.  We look to Dude to following in his father's pawprints both in the show ring and as a stud dog.  We anxiously anticipate Dude's first litter out of Fire's daughter, Trial by Fire o' Amethyst, CGC (Ice) in April of 2002.

Dude recently earned his first 4 show points in Muncie, Indiana during the Cabin Fever Show Cluster.  Dude was awarded Best of Winners and Best of Breed under  Mrs. Bernadette Cox on Friday, February 1, 2002 and then Best of Winners and Best of Breed under Mr. Chuck Herendeen on Sunday, February 3, 2002.  Dude also received Reserve Winners Dog under Dr. Asa Mays.

Another dog that we are offering at stud is our Hernwood Crystal Snowfall (Blizzard).  Blizzard came to us from Peter and Christine Sandiford of Hernwood Gordon Setters in the UK.  In very limited showing, Blizzard is pointed.  He will be shown toward his US Championship as he matures.  We love his lovely temperament, his short-back and his incredible headpiece.  He has perhaps the best mahogany coloring we have seen in a Gordon.

Amethyst's Fire of MacKenna - "Patch" who is shown with breeder, Peggy DaValt, at the 2002 North Country Gordon Specialty.  Photos by Gail Godding.

Patch won Am-bred dog to earn the right to compete in Winners Dog Class at the North Country Specialty Show in June 2002.

Patch is out of Ch. Glen Oak's Maltese Falcon, CD, MH x Trial by Fire o' Amethyst, CGC.  He is major-pointed.

Patch is available at stud.  We anxiously await Patch's first litter due in March of 2003.

Patch is proudly co-owned with Carmen J. Schwitzer, MacKenna.
