Here, at Amethyst,  Gordon Setters are raised in the country, with love and pride.   Whether it be for show, hunting or family pet,  the  primary concern is to place puppies with loving and caring families.  I am here to assist you with any aspect of purchasing and caring of your new puppy, including shipping, training, grooming and showing.  Throughout the past several years, steadfast relationships have been built with first-time Gordon Setter owners as well as seasoned Gordon Setter owners.   

Amethyst Gordon Setters is located in Columbus, WI and owned by Peggy DaValt.

Amethyst Kennels is located in Chandler, OK and is owned by Greg DaValt.  We collaborate on breedings and litters and are able to bring you quality Gordon Setters for companionship, hunting, obedience, agility, and show.

Lyric Gordon Setters is located in Columbus, WI and owned by Laurie Carlson.  Laurie and Peggy DaValt have collaborated on breedings of Flame.

Martini Gordon Setters is located in Balsam Lake, WI and is owned by Martha Martini.  She has owned and raised Amethyst Gordon Setters.

July 2010 - Litter - Colt x Sooner (puppies available 4 girls/1 boy as of September 29, 2010).

This litter was bred by Martha Martini (Website with photos- Martini Gordon Setters) and Greg DaValt (Amethyst Kennels). Photos on the link to Martini Gordon Setters.

May 2010 - Litter - Colt x Flame (all puppies sold - September 22, 2010)

This litter should produce great companions for show, hunting, obedience and rally venues.  This litter is co-bred with Greg DaValt, Amethyst Kennels.

Colt is out of Gail Godding's first litter.  Colt's sire is the handsome Am/Aust Ch. Brodruggan Black Knight (Nike).  Nike was the #1 Gordon Setter in 2007-2008 as well as a top Sporting Dog.  He produces wonderful temperaments in his get.  Colt is no exception.  Colt is a lovely boy and has 12 points, both majors in limited showing.  He won Winners Dog/Best of Winners at the North Country Winter Specialty for a 5-point major and then the next day, he was awarded Winners Dog for another 4-point major.  Colt won a Best in Sweepstakes at the Missouri Valley Gordon Setter Club in September 2009.  His sister, Bella, was Best of Opposite Sex.  Colt has been prelimined on hips and has been found CERF clear.

Sooner is out of Amethyst's Don't Give Up On Me (Kismet) x Ch. Amethyst's Wager o' Ember (Keno).  This is a linebreeding off of Ch. Shojin's Somewhere in Time (Dude), Ch. Hernwood Crystal Snowfall (Blizzard - UK Import) and Trial by Fire o' Amethyst, CGC (Ice) as well as Amethyst's Firelight o' Life (Ember).  Both Ice and Ember are out of Ch. Glen Oaks' Firedance o' Amethyst and MacAlder J'Amethyst Royale (Storm).

Colt
Colt is shown at the GSCA 2010 National Specialty held out in Greeley, CO.  He won 3rd in his class under Mr. Edd Biven.  Photo by Koehler. (Shown with Peggy DaValt here - handled by Kristin Karboski in class). Colt finished his championship out in Longmont, CO on Sunday, June 7, 2010.
Sooner
Sooner is shown winning Best of Breed in May of 2008 at Key City Kennel Club.  Handler/owner:  Martha Martini.

Flame is out of Am/Can/Australian/NZ Ch. Tri-Seter Ebonie Nirvana (Nirvana) x Ch. Glen Oaks Kinsey Report (Kinsey).  Nirvana won the 2003 GSCA National Specialty and is also the father of River, Jack, Sydney, and Blue.  Flame's maternal grandmother is a Ch. Glen Oak's African Queen, JH (Kate) who was a wonderful hunter. Flame is OFA Good, CERF clear, Elbows Normal, Thyroid Normal and is an AKC CHIC certificate holder.

Flame


Flame is shown here in the Hunting Bitch Class at the 2007 GSCA National Specialty, held in Oconomowoc, WI in October.  Flame placed 4th in this class.
